The travel and hospitality operating picture
Travel, hotels and events sell time. A seat, a room or a ticket that is not sold by the date is lost, so availability, price and payment have to be right at the moment a guest books. Many businesses still run that moment on a mix of marketplaces, spreadsheets, email and a front desk that phones housekeeping.
Three pressures show up again and again:
-
Direct relationships
Operators want more bookings on their own channels, with the guest data and the margin that come with them.
-
Operational speed
Guests expect instant confirmation, ready rooms and answers at any hour, while teams stay lean.
-
Rules on payments, packages and accessibility
Card payments, package travel and online booking services carry obligations that the platform has to support.
Netbase publishes an industry page only where it has delivery proof. For travel, hospitality and events, that proof is anonymous portfolio records, so this page describes the kind of platform and our role, not results.

Challenges, constraints and regulatory context
Marketplaces and online travel agencies bring demand but own the guest relationship. Balance them with a direct channel and keep one reservation record.
Channel managers, door locks and point-of-sale terminals have their own vendors; integrations need to be scoped early.
The Package Travel Directive, Directive (EU) 2015/2302, requires standard information before booking and insolvency protection for package organisers (EU).
PCI DSS applies to all entities involved in payment card processing (global).
GDPR Article 6 requires a lawful basis for processing personal data (EU).
The European Accessibility Act lists e-commerce among the services it covers (EU).
These references frame what a platform has to support. They are not legal advice.
Where AI fits in travel and hospitality
Start with the questions guests ask again and again, such as check-in times, directions, booking changes and event schedules, answered on a phone and in the guest's language. Then add recommendations and demand signals as advice for revenue teams, connected to your booking systems through AI integration. Refunds, price changes and anything outside approved answers go to a person. In the EU, guest data used by an assistant needs a GDPR Article 6 lawful basis, and card data should stay out of the chat flow to keep the PCI DSS scope small. Netbase works with the major commercial and open-source AI models and tools, chosen per project.

Solution paths by buyer role
Services and technologies that fit
Most travel and hospitality platforms are custom builds that connect to the vendors a business already uses.
- Industry platforms groups the platform patterns and reusable modules, such as the AI chatbot and WorkChat integrator and the CRM and B2B sales engine.
- Backend platforms explains the service layer behind bookings, payments and integrations.
AI-enabled custom software development built around your workflow
Netbase provides custom software development for companies whose workflow no off-the-shelf product fits, to turn that workflow into software the business owns, with AI built in where it removes manual steps. We take the work from discovery through architecture, build, testing and handover, and the IP created for you stays yours. No licence trap, no rebuild when you outgrow a package.

Travel booking platform with AI search: inventory, pricing and payments in one flow
A travel booking platform is operator software that sells tours, trips, transfers and packages from live inventory: travellers search, book and pay, helped by AI search and suggestions, while staff manage departures, suppliers and changes in one back office. Netbase builds it as a custom platform for travel operators and has delivered booking work for a travel and hospitality client.

Delivery considerations by region and engagement model
Most Netbase clients are outside Vietnam, mainly in the United States and Europe. The team works remote-first from Hanoi in English, in agile milestones, and builds API-first so channel managers, door locks, point-of-sale terminals, mobile booking and AI messaging share one reservation record. Plan three things early:
-
Regional scope
EU businesses plan for package travel rules, GDPR and accessibility; every business that takes cards plans for PCI DSS.
-
Season
Launches and migrations avoid peak travel and event dates, with rehearsals before go-live.
-
Engagement model
Most Netbase projects are delivered on fixed-price contracts, with scope agreed after discovery; dedicated teams, on-demand support and fully managed delivery, with milestone-based, monthly team retainer or KPI-linked terms, are also offered.

No. The clients are not named, so the records describe the kind of platform and our role only.
Build when direct booking, room operations and guest data need to work as one; otherwise start with a ready tool and integrate it.
Direct booking share, then staff time per booking or arrival.
It can collect the request and propose the change within rules you approve; staff confirm exceptions, and refunds stay with people.
