What Strategy & Consulting covers
Most transformation plans die between the slide deck and the backlog; our consulting closes that gap. Every engagement starts from a business goal, such as more online orders or fewer manual steps, and ends with work an engineering team can pick up next morning.
It includes:
- a current-state view of workflows, systems, data and constraints;
- a target state with priorities, dependencies and risks made explicit;
- architecture options with their trade-offs, written down;
- a phased roadmap whose milestones are tied to outcomes, not to activity.
It excludes management consulting without a technology outcome, standalone market research and audits that stop at recommendations.

When consulting is the right first step
Start with consulting when the plan, not the engineering, is the missing piece.
Typical signs:
- the goal is clear but the path to it is not;
- several systems, vendors or teams have to change together;
- a build budget needs a defensible scope before anyone signs it off.
Skip it when the scope is already defined and approved. In that case, go straight to delivery and browse all service families for the right engineering route.

Proof: plans that became platforms
Good consulting shows up in results after launch. Two projects show the pattern:
Rebelo, AG (Portugal). The problem was easy to state and expensive to ignore: customers could not picture their designs on the finished product, so they hesitated before ordering. Netbase turned that problem into a scoped 3D product preview for the existing online store. Rebelo reported revenue up 39% in the first year and engagement up 98%, with personalised-segment conversions up 53%. Read the Rebelo, AG case.
Geo-Tek IT Solutions (Cyprus). Earlier design platforms were fragile, weak on phones and disconnected from internal systems. The scope put device coverage and integration first. The platform that followed lifted revenue 36% in the first quarter after launch, grew repeat transactions 24% and cut order processing 30%. Read the Geo-Tek case.

How we engage
Consulting is the front end of our six-step delivery lifecycle, so the plan and the build never belong to different worlds. Most Netbase projects are delivered on fixed-price contracts agreed after discovery.
-
Discovery and strategic alignment
We map the goal, users, workflows and systems, and agree what success means in numbers you already track.
-
Team assembly and architecture planning
We choose the architecture, name the people who will own it and set outcome-based milestones.
-
Agile execution
The roadmap moves into delivery with modular, productized components where they cut risk.
-
Rollout and beyond
Training, rollout and optimization, followed by ongoing support and co-building for as long as the platform keeps growing.
Governance is visible from the first week: weekly reviews, KPI dashboards, a dedicated account manager and project manager, and communication over Slack, Zoom and client dashboards. The method is lean: test the riskiest assumption first, cut initiatives that do not move a metric, and design API-first and secure by default so later AI, mobile or IoT work does not force a rebuild.
AI in this family
Every roadmap now scores each workflow step for AI, and an AI transformation programme can take it into operations: where it can classify, extract, predict or draft, what data it needs, and where a person must stay in the loop. We also use AI in the consulting itself, to summarise interviews and draft process maps that consultants then validate with your team. Where AI runs in delivered work, and where it is a growth capability:

Where the plans land
Our strongest proof sits in retail and e-commerce, where ordering, catalog and fulfilment flows decide revenue. When the goal is a new digital product, the roadmap can start from the SaaS product accelerator instead of a blank page. Architecture choices are made against the backend platforms we actually build on, so every recommendation stays buildable.
Retail and ecommerce: AI-enabled storefronts, marketplaces and order operations
Netbase helps retailers and online merchants modernize storefronts, marketplaces and order operations, and adds AI where it pays: search, recommendations, catalog enrichment and order exceptions, with your team approving what shoppers see. Results are published: Geo-Tek IT Solutions grew revenue 36% in the first quarter after its new ecommerce platform launched, and an EU fashion marketplace grew GMV 47%.

Buyer FAQ
Both. Discovery flows straight into delivery, so one account manager and one project manager stay accountable from the first workshop to rollout.
Length follows scope: the number of systems, teams and decisions involved. We agree the timeline and the outputs at the start of discovery, before any build commitment.
A written scope, an architecture with its trade-offs and a phased roadmap with outcome-based milestones, ready for a delivery team.
Yes. Each initiative is checked for AI fit, data readiness and risk, and AI is recommended only where it beats simpler automation.
Through weekly reviews and KPI dashboards, with the same governance we use on engineering projects.

SaaS product accelerator: launch an AI-ready SaaS on proven Netbase modules
A SaaS product accelerator is a set of reusable Netbase modules for accounts, billing, roles and integrations that helps founders and product teams launch subscription software faster, with room for in-product AI from the first release. Reusing these productized modules can cut development time by up to 60%, and the approach is proven on Printcart, the web-to-print SaaS Netbase built and operates.
