The healthcare operating picture
Healthcare providers carry two loads at once: the care itself and the administration around it. Appointments, referrals, forms, room planning and billing still move by phone, paper and separate calendars in many organizations, and every manual step takes time away from patients.
Three pressures push providers to change:
-
Access and waiting times
Patients expect online booking and reminders; unannounced no-shows waste scarce slots.
-
Connected records
Data has to move between scheduling, the health record, laboratories and billing, and standards such as HL7 FHIR make that exchange possible.
-
Rules on health data
Health data is among the most protected data there is, and new rules such as the European Health Data Space add obligations over the coming years.
Netbase publishes an industry page only where it has delivery proof. For healthcare, that proof is an anonymous portfolio record, so this page describes the kind of platform and our role, not results.

Challenges, constraints and regulatory context
This section is general information, not legal or compliance advice. Whether a system meets the law is decided by the provider with its legal and compliance advisers, jurisdiction by jurisdiction; Netbase gives no compliance guarantee.
The HIPAA Privacy Rule, issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), addresses the use and disclosure of protected health information by covered entities and their business associates; the HHS Office for Civil Rights enforces HIPAA rules.
GDPR Article 9 treats health data as a special category whose processing is prohibited unless an exception applies, such as explicit consent or the provision of health care.
The European Health Data Space Regulation entered into force on 26 March 2025, with obligations phased in from 2027.
Operations software must not make clinical decisions; diagnosis and prescribing stay with clinicians and their certified systems.
What Netbase brings. Netbase follows HIPAA-aligned methodologies for healthcare data handling and GDPR alignment for data privacy in Europe, and applies its security practices: secure code review, TLS in transit and AES at rest, role-based access control, MFA for admin dashboards, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, and disaster recovery. Netbase holds ISO 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type II attestation for its own operations; they do not certify a client's system or hosting.
Where AI fits in healthcare operations
Start with administrative work where a wrong suggestion is caught before it reaches a patient: no-show risk and slot length for schedulers, then draft intake fields from referrals and forms. Diagnosis, triage and prescribing stay with clinicians and their certified systems. The rules above shape every AI feature: a model provider that handles protected health information may fall under HIPAA's business associate rules, and GDPR Article 9 needs an exception before health data is processed. Netbase works with the major commercial and open-source AI models, chosen per project; provider, hosting region and retention are agreed before patient data is used, and a person reviews every output that reaches a record or a patient.

AI-enabled custom software development built around your workflow
Netbase provides custom software development for companies whose workflow no off-the-shelf product fits, to turn that workflow into software the business owns, with AI built in where it removes manual steps. We take the work from discovery through architecture, build, testing and handover, and the IP created for you stays yours. No licence trap, no rebuild when you outgrow a package.

Healthcare operations platform with AI: scheduling, patient flow and records workflows
A healthcare operations platform is software for the operational side of clinics and hospitals: scheduling, patient flow from check-in to discharge, staff tasks and records paperwork, with AI that drafts intake data and scheduling advice for staff to approve. Netbase builds it as a custom platform, reviews data handling per jurisdiction with your advisers and gives no compliance guarantee; it has delivered operations work for a healthcare client.

Beyond printing and packaging and retail and e-commerce, Netbase has delivered projects for clients in healthcare, and these clients are not named. More projects are in our work.
Delivery considerations by region and engagement model
Most Netbase clients are outside Vietnam, mainly in the United States and Europe. The team works remote-first from its only office, in Hanoi, in English, in agile milestones, with security designed into each release rather than added before go-live. Plan three things early:
-
Jurisdiction review
Name the jurisdictions, the provider's advisers and the hosting region before scoping, including where AI models may run.
-
Test data
Build, test and evaluate AI features with non-production data; access to real patient data is agreed separately.
-
Engagement model
Most Netbase projects are delivered on fixed-price contracts, with scope agreed after discovery; dedicated teams, on-demand support and fully managed delivery, with milestone-based, monthly team retainer or KPI-linked terms, are also offered.
Owner and further reading

No. Netbase follows HIPAA-aligned methodologies and makes no certification or compliance claim for a client's system.
No. The operations platform connects to it where an interface exists.
With scheduling and reminders, because no-shows and phone queues are easy to measure before and after.
No. AI in operations software advises schedulers and intake staff; diagnosis, triage and prescribing stay with clinicians, and a person checks every AI output before it reaches a record.
