The problem
A loyalty company serves many client programmes, and each programme wants its own branded shop where members redeem points for merchandise, gift cards or travel. Building a separate store per programme does not scale. The company needed one platform that could launch new branded shops quickly, accept points and cash in the same checkout, route orders to the right vendors, and stay in step with the points balances, orders and product catalogue already held in its own systems. Some programmes also wanted the shop inside their own mobile apps, and some clients required an on-premise installation.
What Netbase delivered
-
Multi-store core
Magento 2 configured as the backbone for many independent, individually branded reward shops, with a multi-vendor module.
-
Hybrid rewards checkout
Custom modules for points, cash and mixed payments in one cart, alongside payment gateways.
-
Rewards catalogue
Merchandise with variants, gift cards with denominations and travel bookings added to the cart like a product.
-
Vendor fulfilment and SLAs
Items routed to fulfilment partners, with SLA tracking, alerts before and at a breach, and SLA reports.
-
Headless storefront
A responsive Next.js storefront themed per programme, in Arabic and English.
-
Integrations
Two-way links with the company's points middleware, ordering service and product catalogue, using webhooks for real-time changes and a scheduled sync as the failover, plus single sign-on with programme credentials.
-
Mobile and admin
UI components for the programmes' own mobile apps and a centralised super-admin dashboard that aggregates data across shops.
-
Quality and handover
QA reports, compliance validation, documentation and training.
How the work was delivered
The project ran in four phases: the Magento multi-store and multi-vendor set-up; the custom points and SLA modules; the headless storefront and mobile components; then testing and deployment. Netbase used an iterative Agile approach with overlapping sprints, and each milestone was reviewed and approved before the next phase began. A project manager and a business analyst led requirements and documentation, working with Magento and front-end developers and a QA tester, and progress was tracked on the Netbase project management platform. A warranty period and a maintenance block followed launch.
Why a headless, integration-first design
Separating the storefront from the commerce backbone let each programme get its own look without a new store, and let the same backend serve web shops and in-app shops. Treating the client's points and ordering systems as the owners of their data, with webhooks and a failover sync, is how the design keeps balances and orders consistent across every shop. The enterprise systems integration guide explains the same ownership-first approach, and our commerce and enterprise technologies page lists the platforms Netbase delivers on.
