The problem
The client offers online design for printed products and social media posts and competes with large browser-based design tools. Its research showed that users often make more than one version of a design, for example two poster concepts to choose from. In its tool each design lived on a separate page, so comparing versions meant switching back and forth, which is slow and easy to get wrong. The client wanted several designs on one page and a quick way to move between them.
What Netbase built
-
Preview
A bar on the right of the editor shows every design page as a thumbnail, in order from top to bottom, and scrolls when the list is long.
-
Shortcut
Clicking a thumbnail jumps straight to that design.
-
Add a page
A new page button adds a blank design directly below the current one.
-
Choose print pages
Users tick only the designs they want printed out of everything they created.
-
Download
Designs can be downloaded from the same bar.
-
Hide the bar
The bar can be hidden when a user needs the full canvas; the design team proposed this after noticing the bar takes working space.
How the work was delivered
The client described the idea to the development team, which placed the bar on the right where it is easy to see and designed the set of actions around the way users compare versions. Concept, design, build and refinement took about a week, and the testing team checked each action before hand-over. Because the bar works on the existing editor, users keep the templates, text and image tools they already know.
What is not claimed
The public story describes the client's expectations for the feature, not measured results, so this record publishes no sales, traffic or conversion figure. The preview bar is interface work, not an AI feature.
